Most Marketing Problems Are Not Media Problems
When a campaign underperforms, the review is about reach, frequency and channel mix, because those are the levers a team can move quickly and defend with a number. The work itself is rarely reopened. It was approved by people who are still in the room.
Bombay Breed exists to reopen the work: an outside authority with no stake in anyone's budget and enough distance to say what the room cannot. The methods are old disciplines, sharper briefs and better arguments, applied with the rigour of effectiveness metrics so the same media budget returns more.
One specialist wing, the climate communications practice, builds narratives that survive regulators and legal review, backed by Bombay Breed's own published research at The Climate Desk.

Founder and Principal Advisor
Theresa Ronnie is the founder of Bombay Breed, a Bangalore-based growth advisory for marketing leaders. She founded it in 2020 with KPMG India and Microsoft India as its first clients, after leading the Bengaluru office of FCB Ulka and running strategic operations for Leo Burnett and Publicis. She then moved the practice to climate, where a claim that cannot be proven is a liability rather than a slogan.
That route shaped the method: bottom-line impact and effectiveness metrics brought to creative work, and creative judgement brought to rooms that usually only see spreadsheets. She reads a balance sheet as closely as a brief.

The name, the founder, and what the firm is
What is Bombay Breed?
A growth advisory for marketing leaders, founded in Bangalore in 2020 by Theresa Ronnie, and the home of the Constraint to Capability Growth System.
What does Theresa Ronnie do?
She diagnoses why in-house marketing teams are not delivering growth and fixes it in 90 days. She founded Bombay Breed in 2020 with KPMG India and Microsoft India as its first clients, after leading the Bengaluru office of FCB Ulka and Publicis Worldwide. A mother, a writer and a philosopher, she publishes The Climate Desk as part of her net zero transition work and The Economics of Happiness, where she writes about what it takes to lead a happy life.
Why does the Bombay Breed logo have a cat?
The firm is named after the Bombay cat breed, not the city. The Bombay is a black cat: quiet, observant, and able to disappear into the shadows. Bombay Breed works the same way. It observes socio-cultural behaviour in society, businesses, teams and industries, and turns what it sees into astute insights that drive business growth.
Is Bombay Breed a marketing agency or a fractional CMO?
Neither. It is an independent advisory: it diagnoses first and builds capability inside the marketing team, and it does not sell media or take ownership of the function. After the diagnosis a client can keep it on a standing advisory retainer or have it execute the fix with the team.
